Subject: RE: I'm trying it

Pittsburg, Kansas

An unusual thing happened last night. I went 8 hours without getting up to pee at least a couple times during the night. I have not slept like that for I don't know how long.

I don't have an explanation. I do have a few possibilities.

We have a somewhat bad habit of eating supper late. Same for last night but all I had was the butter. Normally eat my biggest meal often times not ending till after 8pm. I have thought for a long time that it was later than ideal to eat a big meal but it seemed to match up best with our lifestyle. Even though being retired now I guess long time habit of not coming in from work till almost sundown and eat whenever I came in is hard to break. I also tend to drink a lot of fluid when I eat to help me swallow, especially if meat is dry or other dry food. So I am digesting and dealing with a lot of fluid late in the day. I knew this was not ideal, but it was what it was. With only the butter last night I also only drank basically one glass of coffee with some collagen, gelatin and casein protein mix we take as supplement. Couple grams of each. So a lot less fluid to deal with and less food to digest. That could have had a lot to do with it. Or it could have just been the higher ketones in the bloodstream. Science has shown that ketones are used by the heart and brain in a superior way for fuel. Maybe I was just super tired from the travels the a couple days before and slept well.

Just an interesting (to me at least) observation with no concrete answer to why. I find that a lot with various things we try out. Don't know for sure what helps and what is just a waste of time and money. I have a little of both to waste so I guess I don't worry about it much. Just try to keep doing something that is hopefully good for our health. Not perfectly by any means, but at least trying to do something good.
