Brandon, MS
I believe you should seriously consider investing in some panels. And typically, you get what you pay for. The heavy freestanding ones are definitely available in south MS, and I would figure south AL too. If you could find material, they're a fairly simple FFA project. I'm not sure how well I could sleep knowing only hog panels and t-posts are holding back new calves in confinement. You must keep them well fed.

In your situation, I believe I'd stick with the two pen side by side setup you have, then add a 1/4 tub / alley / chute beside them. Have it where one pen feeds into the tub, and then they can exit out the chute and into the other pen. Remove the chute and the alley becomes your load out.

I'd look into some bigger posts for the perimeter. I like the panel angle for keeping things removeable for aesthetics and cleanout.

A 90 degree tub and a one panel alley ain't much, but it would be more than what you've got now.
