What direction does your load out need to be oriented? And is that small gate in your pictures pointed toward the pond? I'd put my squeeze chut down there in that area. Then get some cheaper portable panels(that you can take downwhen you aren't working calves to appease the wife) to build a little removable catch/return area back to the 10' wide alley I'd add on to the house side of what you have drawn. The current sketch you have isn't a bad layout, but you dont need all the gates in there. I'd put one 8-10' gate on the house side of the lots in each pen, and add that alley. I'd use the pasture lane area around the side for my holding pen. Then have a 10' gate to that first pen down in the corner and swing away from the perimeter fence to help funnel them back into the pens.
Also, pour some concrete in the pens, especially where the water troughs sit. Since its your money and not mine! | |
