N FLA | Thanks. The neighbor said it is a 3 mile long line of planted oaks his family planted in the 1880s. Theres a north south line and an east west line. This corner of my property is the east end of where they meet. Best I can tell I'm the only one who has them cleaned up and looking good underneath them. Everywhere else is covered over in vines and junk saplings like this was when I bought.
I need to trim more as the shade is hurting some of my grass.
The neighbor said the trees led to a mill and a cotton gin. Perhaps off a main road. I think the roads have been moved since then. The east west road probably became the county road in front of my house. | |
