Dayton, IA | A good rule of thumb for a finisher is 1/3 earlage, 1/3 wet distillers, 1/3 dry corn. Some people feed no dry corn and all earlage. If you get earlage put up right it should be close in energy to dry corn but I think it’s probably a little too much roughage and not enough energy to push them. Depends on how you are set up if you want to get cattle in and back out or take a little longer but maybe return more to the grain operation. You just have to run the numbers to decide what makes the most sense. | |
