Subject: RE: New balers

Sioux County, NWIA
Local custom baler had similar complaints about his pair of Deere balers last year. Bought them new but was unhappy how many silly little problems they had, from bearings failing to software glitches. He had intended to keep them for a few years but opted to trade them at the end of last season instead.

I've been running New Holland 560s for 7 years and while they are not perfect I am not looking to change colors either. NH isn't immune from stupid problems. Last fall the newest baler I own overfilled the chamber and tripped the overload clutch on the PTO. Found out that from the factory the hoses and wiring were not properly routed past the little arm that runs the bale size potentiometer. The hoses were flexing out and distorting the linkage, preventing it from reaching the full size reading. Duh Oh!
