| I’m with you on not wanting to put hay rings in the pens. Makes more of a mess than anything and they sort/eat the leaf only. Iv got mine on a pellet/corn mix and they are sorting the pellets off and dumping them out of the feeder somewhat. If you have J bunks or some kind of external feeder you can pitch fork a few good chunks along the rail and that might do it for you. That’s what I started doing and the hay is gone by mid afternoon. And keeps the mess down and out of the pens. With 200$ a ton alfalfa you hate to waste any of it!!
