July COF report had 38% heifers in feedlots. Actually up slightly from April. That puts the national cow herd about even. There might be someone taking opens back to the country but you would have to be a fool with what open heifers and slaughter cows are bringing. They are usually open and at the sale for a reason.
there's already several guys in this area talking about getting loads of opens in to rebreed. Monster hay crop and they are looking at options to sell the hay. One option being walking if off the farm. Rebreeds get passed around a lot in this country why do you think there are so many "special cow sales"?
