I took a galvanized bushing and welded a flat bar bracket to it, that mounts to the tank side. That works fine, its the float itself that I'm less than impressed with in it's short lifespan.

Also—how tight you screw them back together can make it vary—-

Is it better to be tighter or looser?

I like the philmac/gallagher floats, but in this particular location one of those wasn't the best fit. I may have to figure out how to swap over to one though, as they're usually pretty reliable for me.

On winter pasture, water comes in from standpipe in center—-does a 180, valve screwed directly to that.

I have no explanation on the tightness—-held it up with my finger, it still dribbled, tightened it some, didn’t flow right when I let it go. Backed it off till it dribbled when it shouldn’t have, tightened till it barely quit.

Worked fine till I moved off—-were pretty brittle environment ——havnt been back yet—

Ps—-can get a little “repair kit”—for—I think—about 8 bucks—-been a while since I bought valves, think I got kits then.

My collection box is 4’ culvert, on end—-if I can find right kinda filter, think I’ll filter the outlet going to tank

Dandy spring, has overflow piped to coulee, was just letting it run. But cow would drink it dry—-with valve, water would get deeper in collection box, flow more volumne, keep up with cows. Low pressure but 11/2 “ supply line
