Subject: What grass in horse pasture

Galena IL
Neighbor lady has 10 horses on about 12 acres. I mowed it for her with the batwing Friday. I'm thinking I should mix some sulfur, potash and grass seed to make it a little more productive for her. What grass would be best? Horses remember. Right on the Wisconsin / Illinois line, clay soil. well drained and usually around 50 inches rain per year.... Dennis

Edit to add

She supplement feeds the horses also. She hasn’t owned the pasture very long. I was just asking what grass horses liked? They had some of it ate down to a quarter inch tall and then there were some other grass. They didn’t even touch. Here we usually get timely rains,With a little supplemental feed, I run one cow calf pair per acre
