I have yet to see a modern float that has been that good. We use 2 of the old time brass floats with the arm and ball. Hard water and new Chinese brass, less than 10 years both have needed a repair. Have used lot of the Little Giant on a garden hose always something. But using the blue plastic trough mostly last much better than the metal galvanized ones. And the Little Giant dose not clamp on well. So we went Hudson on those they need constant monitoring, as I also have limited water.

If I had equipment to handle the 450 gal concrete trough I would have more of them and the old time brass floats. But with the cost of that float I don't think in the end it would be a cheaper float. But the best of a bad lot.

Good luck to you. Because we get better than a few weeks. But I guess time for a trough check as it was 100 today. But cooling as now 87 at 6.30 pm here on the inland side of the Coast Range , Central California.
