“So once you get to 7000 or newer deere receiver with the correct rtk unlocks you can use a standard RTCM base?”

Yes.

“Do you still get the satellite based corrections for a backup if you get disconnected from your base?”

Yes. I ran a 7500 w/ permanent RTK unlocks this past spring on a 3rd party cell network using RTCM. I think I lost cell service once (for like a min) and the 7500 defaulted back to I believe SF-3 while it regained connection. I honestly didn’t even notice that it lost signal. I looked down at my planter monitor to check something and noticed the gps icon flashing at me.

“Do you know what RTCM messages need to be in the data stream?”

I do not know which RTCM messages specifically are supported. On the setup screen in the 7000/7500 it simply says “RTCM”. The 3rd party cell or radio needs to be sending GGA.

There is 4 pin deutsch connector for the JD radio on the 7500 (1 = power, 2 = TX, 3 = RX, 4= ground). With proper pinout and a baud rate of 19,200 you can connect 3rd party cell modems and 3rd party radios to the 7000/7500
