Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

John EIA - 8/9/2025 16:20 I can't imagine how road work is still managed by townships, here in Iowa Counties do the road work and our roads are good. The inefficiency of each township having equipment necessary for road maintenance is astronomical. Our township only has 6 or 8 miles of roads. Township control of roads may have been good a century ago but today it is obsolete. John EIA

John, are you saying your Twp only has 6 or 8 miles of paved roads, or total roads in the Twp? That's amazing if you mean total roads!  I think our township has one of the highest miles of Level B and C roads in the state. And, in general, our gravel roads are pretty highly maintained......in general. Some glaring exceptions remain.
