| Brother and I just figured ourselves and got similar numbers.
I haven’t been selling many beefs because the cost to feed them is high and you have to deal with lots of people. This isn’t corn country and to buy enough corn to finish a steer will cost me about $400. They are easy to sell at $2 live, not so much at $2.50 or more. I started doing it as a way to sell a funny color steer for full price, but right now they bring full price at the sale barn.
We think it’s worth it for us, I don’t want to eat the ground beef from the store. | |
