southern Minnesota | Yup that is exactly how my father in law was treated he tried to just offer it back for half of what he was getting. NO they would not except it. I was farming the farm and it was the worst 5 acres on the farm sharp side hill type of ground. He told me to just forget about the land and just let it lay. That is exactly what the government man wanted, it would have still been in sod with no expence to them, but my father in law would still have had property taxes to pay on it. But I said nothing doing I broke it out and shazam 2 years later it was excepted back into CRP. You got to prove you are willing to farm it to get it back into the CRP. Or that was my experience many years ago. | |
