S Illinois | I thought this is what everyone wanted. Sell our “stuff” and raise prices on things we import. When there is less “stuff” here prices rise domestically. This includes NH3 made from the less abundant US NG as we sell it to others.
Phosphate products had tariffs slapped on them a few years ago because Mosaic didn’t like Morocco a cheap producer. That’s set a new higher base price level. Now we have Potash from Canada and Russia going up.
Tariffs are all fun and games when one assumes it’s only going to help us sell our products to others and raise prices. Not so much when the same things happen to the products we as producers have to buy. | |
