Talk of $3.25 corn futures has me thinking about sometime in the 1980’s when corn dropped to close to $1.00. Disastrous price then and adjusted for inflation $3.25 isn’t a whole lot more. The carry out was far more burdensome then and the loan rate was something like $1.85 I believe. You could take a government loan and buy it back at the posted county price and make some money. Can’t do that now.


Takes $3.90 today to equal $1.00 in 1980 according to the interweb inflation calculator…….
