| Counter and other granular insecticides have been around for over 50 years. One argument that they have not gotten resistance to them because you only treat about 6-8 inches of 30 inches. In other words the normal rootworm beetles that emerge are a lot more than the resistance ones so the resistant ones are kept in the minority and do not become a large amount. When normal and resistant ones breed their offspring are not resistant. This may work for insecticides but I guess does not work for GMO corn.
The logic was the hatch of resistant ones would be much smaller so they would interbreed with the non resistant ones resulting in non resistant off spring. Guess what, It did not work with GMO corn. | |
