What satellite images are Deere using for their new “predictive ground speed” for combines? That’s a crop density image i believe. No idea where Deere purchases the satellite data from.


That sounded kind of hokey anyhow. I'm not so sure I would want my combine deciding ground speed based on a map from a satellite. But, even if it did work, a solution is quite simple IMO. All it would take are sensors on the header drive measuring the power usage. Typically, heavier crop means more power used to run the header. Maybe combine that with feeder chain drum height sensors and I'm sure the brainiacs would find a suitable replacement.


Cameras on the cab combined with the satellite map but agree some load sensing on knife but that might not give enough time to adjust speed
