NE North Dakota | One observation that I have found fascinating about this program is going back 2-3 years. The crops of 23/24 were fantastic. Just look at the overall US yield for corn and soys. Talking to neighbors everyone was bragging about yields and the where did it come from stories.
Fast forward to a SDRP payment and same guys discussing the payments. How did you collect of your crops were so good? Funny how that works. Just shuffle the bushels and collect every year apparently.
I actually like this style of program because it really helped the true disaster areas. But it also helps the fraudulent guys collect over and over again
2025 is different. Looks to be a good crop just horrible low prices. So how do you write a program for that. MFP isn’t fair to those that don’t have a great crop when paid per bushel. | |
