Clinton County, Michigan | Yes, for the most part suspension travel introduces a little bit of error. Even driving on wet ground can have errors if the tires are sinking in a bit in some areas but not others (but those are the lows that need drainage). You're just looking to map the highs and lows to get an idea how to drain it. When you come back with the machine a lot of times you'll run a Survey pass on just the single ditch or pipe line (which would get the areas between where you may have drove a different direction before). Even if you did run the grade control off the field survey, the important thing is the grade control would still hold the proper slope... just the depth may be off a little bit (amount of suspension travel at a certain point). | |
