South Central MN | One comment somewhere stated if it is too foggy or wet at the wrong time the pollen packets on the tassel might not shed properly and lead to poor pollination issues. Could be what you are seeing especially if it was rainy for a few days in a row and never really dried out with the high humidity.
I haven't seen those very often.
To add insult to injury they also say that large tip is a prime spot for ear rots and such to start. | |
