North Dakota | In the future I may try this experiment because it would be a very scientific way to go about things. For now I will just take your word for it and keep them off of my alfalfa.
It would be an interesting project to possibly find a way to graze fields without the (damage) but for now I am resolved to just getting alfalfa established thick enough to be a weed suppressor and yet produce economical amounts of forage.
Fertilizer coming directly from the animal is the best and quickest, but I think nature can also turn plants into plant food without running it through a cow. Just takes longer and needs help placing excess forage (2nd growth) in the correct place in your soil to accomplish that. | |
