I can't think of any courses that are visible north of the interstate in my area.  There is one south of the interstate by Waco.....I have never played it even though it is 15 miles from home.  I've been told it is short but challenging because of its small greens.

Edit.....I mostly play my home course Henderson....short but the trees are making more interesting. I was member in York for 3 years and loved but it was just too hard to find time to get there.  Maybe when kids summer sports don't take so much time I'll join again.
