SOIL | John Deere's Operations Center fills most of my needs. Ag Leader SMS covers the rest, mostly the prescription writing part but also dealing with the non-Deere equipment.
Back in the early to mid 2010s, we used FieldView because it was part of a Precision Planting sale, but stopped when it wasn't free anymore. At $3 per acre at the time, it was outlandishly high! I switched to SMS and used that exclusively for a couple years until the MTG modem in the Deere equipment became free, then it suddenly made sense to start using Ops Center.
No harvest data ever went into FieldView, but the top guy insisted that rather than using real variety numbers like C1234, we had a list in our tractor that read 1 = C1234, 2 = C5678 so they wouldn't know what we were planting. This was irritating and make the data in itself almost useless to us unless you had that goofy list on you at all times. | |
