| I brought thin young cows with calves in the past, I just hand fed some grain and good quality hay, water from a well. I had a place where I could check on them easily. I picked these up at the local sale barn I worked at as a clerk in the sale ring so I knew if they were fresh off the farm ( not trader’s livestock ). I usually had good luck with them and after getting them straightened out put them with my main herd where I kept them for many years.
But to be fair I only dealt 3 or 4 at a time and was easy to look after them. But I was at the stock sale every week so I was picky and only brought what was mismanaged cows and was young cows. | |
