| Not so much a note on storage, but as a good way to round them out at the end of the year is to put them through like a 4-6 hour cycle in an ultrasonic cleaner with some soap. Saves a ton of cleaning or scrubbing and is a really good way to get those little bitty tough to reach places cleaned out that might build up stuff later on. Same goes for strainers on the sprayer. Pull em out, put em in the cleaner and walk away. If you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner, they aren't crazy expensive (like $100-200) and I'd get a 6L heated one for a set of tips.
Depending on where you are, you might get some build-up hardness on the nozzles over winter, but I'd reckon you are in the US and might be less of an issue.
GENERALLY the nozzles shouldn't wear out from outside environmental things before the actual nozzle itself wears out, so probably less of a concern to take them off, but I do know it is kind of nice to have pretty much a fresh set of tips in the beginning the year (as they are already clean), but like some guys mentioned sometimes you'll get the bugs making homes in your nozzle body outlets that can cause just as much grief once you put those tips back on in the spring. | |
