NW Iowa | Pellet lime is good for one yr and 100% available.
I had a farm with no lime lease and yr to yr with some 3.9-4.5 ph
I put 300-500lbs of pellet lime in some spots, back when it was cheap.
I raised 68 bu beans and 240 corn 24yrs ago.
It did raise the ph after doing it for 5 yrs.
I ended up buying it in 2020.
I then regular limed it.
Would i have been ahead liming it, yes,
but unknown future and limited funds
pellet lime worked.
The regular fert was through the roof because nobody ever limed it | |
