Subject: John Deere A with hand clutch issues

Camp Douglas Wi. 40miles nw of wi. dells
Trying to sell JD A for mother in law after father in law passed.

Tractor has been sitting in shed last 3 years. Runs good and everything works decent except hand clutch. It ingauges normal and pulls good, but won’t disconnect pulling handle back unless you pull very hard and hold it till it dis an gauges, can hear the engine pull down some until it does. After stopping and putting transmission in nuterel the pulley will start spinning on its own.

Is there simple adjustment or wore out linkage or clutch?

Never worked on JD hand clutch tractors, but am handy with most tractor repairs. So little guidance would be appreciated.
