Iowa - Floyd County | Been doing covers for several years now. Just been using cereal rye and have gotten very comfortable on what I can/can't do with it and what it can do for me. Thinking about trying some different/additional species this year and am looking for suggestions.
Main goals for me are cover to prevent residue moving(mainly from wind, not water), nutrient scavenging/fixing, and weed control.
I’ve got 3 separate 30 acre fields that are soybeans going to corn next year that I’m thinking of trying this on, possibly a different blend on each field. They will likely be seeded with a drone.
Any suggestions for me? Or just keep doing what I have been? Appreciate any input. | |
