| I have considerable experience with Deere and Vermeer. If you can afford to get a Super M or N a Vermeer is significantly better. They’re heavier duty in almost every way, higher capacity, vastly more reliable net wrap system. If you’re looking at something older than that a 567 Deere is also a decent baler. Just expect more maintenance. Also, if you are trying to bale anything that is extremely short and fine, like poor wheat straw or forth cutting bermuda, the Deere will have a slight edge over the Vermeer. They will both generally make about the same bale. I don’t have any personal experience with them but the New Holland balers are supposed to make a heavier bale. They are also easier to make a very nice looking bale with if that’s a big deal to you. No matter what brand you end up with, you will save yourself a lot of frustration if you buy good quality net wrap instead of the cheap stuff. | |
