southeast nebraska | Cash rent at current average prices locally for this year applied to 2026
(not gonna state a number because that number is different everywhere, but figure if your average was $200 an acre for 2025 than use $200 an acre for this example, if it was $300 an acre, use $300 an acre for this example, the amount is NOT the point, it is the terms which makes this a doozy)
You are responsible for all long term improvements to the ground.
Terraces
Tile
Lime (which it needs)
Fertilizer profile is weak and needs work, gonna take lottsa dry to get it up to speed
You get a 1 year lease and the next year it can be taken away from you.
So.
Who will step up to the plate, put some lime on, dump a buncha dry on, make sure them terraces are cleaned up good and solid for the chance to farm one year for sub $4 corn and after you are done with that, the very next year somebody else gets it after you have shoveled a pile of money into it.
Seriously. I have an offer like that.
Anybody want that? | |
