Planted early April and was tasseling July 4th weekend. As corn starts to fill the ear it just lets down its guard vs all disease. I am not sure if we just had a storm early in bring it up here or what but the weather has been so hot and wet that it’s been prime for Southern. Now that we are cooling I’m hoping it slows it down. Tar spot will probably pick up now though with the coolness.
