South Central Illinois

For some reason,
Iowa has more red squares than Illinois?
Our corn, for the most part, is in the middle of pollination.
The first tassels appeared 2 weeks ago.
So pollination started about 10 days ago.
Not really sure how this factors into the outcome?
Wait 2 weeks and spray at full brown silk stage?
