Have wheat straw windrowed for about 3 weeks. Waiting on the baler to get here. Been getting plenty of rain. Should I rake it now so the underside drys out or should I wait until the baler is a day out. If we get more rain , not sure if its better to rake it or leave it alone
If the straw has been getting soaked every couple days, I would grab some straw form underneath to make sure it’s not deteriorating. If so I’d rake it, so it can dry out, even if you have to rake it again before baler gets there.
