Subject: RE: Weak evidence and media headlines

SW Minnesota
I remember about 8 years ago having a discussion with my daughter about this topic. She was either finishing her food science degree or starting Med school. She said that so many of the studies that claimed meat cosumption was bad used populations that had a variety of bad health habits such as smoking, excessive alcohol and obesity. She is by no means a carnivore type but she does seem to be recommending something approaching 2grams protien per pound of ideal body weight. One thing I have noticed over the years is as I become more carnivore my tolerance of processed meats is less. Cheap hot dogs just about make me gag.
