E.Central MN | We drove around south central Minnesota and noticed that most of the small feedlots that used to raise up to a dozen steers are standing empty. The cost of feeder cattle is so high that a lot of guys are thinking it's just too risky to invest in them right now. The price of hamburger has increased a lot, but the price of high end steaks didn't change much at Costco until just recently. I'm surprised pork and chicken haven't taken more of the market away from beef. | |
