SW OH | Your thought about keeping honest people out is close. They only keep out the dumb and the lazy. I've followed a few lock pick whizzes on youtube for a while. I'm slow at it, but I can open a lot of locks in time. I also have hundreds of keys that are all cut differently.
The biggest thing that is overlooked is the a locked door is usually not the easiest way in. Some people who know me have called me and asked me to pick something open for them. More often than not I can get in faster other ways than picking the lock. I'm not talking about breaking windows or damaging anything to get in. Locks give a false sense of security.
