OK | I grew up in ne South Dakota never knew about them until the summer of 93. Family went to visit my uncle in Missouri, learned with 33 of them I did not enjoy their company. 2 years ago I housed a few again when I was in south central South Dakota. When I was in the shower wanting some relief I turned the cold water off. The heat helped me think about something else for a while. The next morning my legs did not itch. Told my wife about the heat. She soon came home with bite helper. I have concluded, chiggers just can't stand the heat!
