Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

There was no body damage on my Tesla. Big rock chip caused me to replace the windshield. The Tesla shop in Glendale, AZ replaced the windshield. Somehow, the techs messed the windshield wiper linkage up and the wipers would "clunk" when used. So a Tesla Ranger came to my place and fussed with it for a while. Unable to solve the problem, he prescribed a windshield replacement. I took the car to the Las Vegas repair facility and the techs there were able to fix the clunk without needing a new glass.
As for the ultrasonic sensors; let's think about this. The bumper mounted sensors were only used for low speed parking assist. They don't have enough volume to project sound far enough when traveling at highway speeds. Previous iterations of Teslas did have a radar unit mounted in the front. That was used for adaptive cruise and high speed collision avoidance, Many/most other makes of cars with adaptive cruise do include a radar unit. But those cars too, can suffer from phantom braking, so it's not sure fire either. My '22 model car did have ultra-sonic buttons in the bumpers but they are no longer used for anything. The Falcon Wing doors and rear hatch still use ultra-sonic sensors to avoid hitting things when opening. Those sensors are mounted inside the door cavities, so you can't see them but they are really, really loud in order to make them see through the metal. My hearing aids pick them up if I stand under the open doors but people with good normal hearing can't hear them. Again, they are low speed, limited range devices that are useless for ADAS.
