We have a 2020 Traverse that has a backup camera. I refuse to use it, thankfully. There have been several times backing out of a parking space that I either stopped in time or didn't start because of something behind me the camera didn't pick up. The radio is a joke being built into a screen. When I put the vehicle in reverse the radio A) turns on loudly, B) turns on after a few seconds C) turns on, shuts off, turns on again (usually on a different station) or D) doesn't turn on at all. It's very distracting to have it suddenly blare when backing out of the garage or in a parking lot. Bring back radios of 20 years ago. They were much easier to use.
The "crash avoidance" feature is sketchy. There have been times it would light up even though I had plenty of space between vehicles (100+ft). No need for heated seats or steering wheel. The GPS is very annoying and usually wrong. I refuse to use it. Thankfully we don't have "adaptive cruise". I drove a couple rentals that had it and consider them mildly dangerous. I find it distracting. And get rid of all the buttons on the backside of the steering wheel. | |
