Southeast WI | Good advice here. Especially on affordable food. Id suggest one night out at a nice restaurant however its insanely expensive.
To the OP - DC can't be "done" in 3 days. I suppose a whirlwind drive-by method to glance at things would work but at that point find some YouTube videos or documentaries to "see" stuff and stay home. Not sure what physical shape you are in but 3 days of riding the metro and walking to things was about all we could handle about 10 years ago on our last visit. Think of cows on concrete - legs get sore! Figure out several must sees for you and go with that. For a nice overview take an open top bus tour from union station area to get to the nearby highlights around the Capitol. And stay at one of the hotels within blocks of the Capitol as coming into the area from outside each day kills too much time. | |
