Altoona, WI | To me, there is a difference between pricing legit homegrown produce outrageously high and foolish people spending their money on it - and buying tomatoes elsewhere and selling it as Amish grown.
In the first example, that is just dumb people handing their money over. No dishonesty on the part of the Amish in my opinion, and on the contrary, smart business practice if they can get it sold for that.
I have zero sympathy for people who think an Amish grown tomato is worth twice what a tomato elsewhere is selling for. No offense to the OP. Sounds like he didn't know what the price was until he was ready to purchase, but I would have politely said no thanks and left him hanging onto them. | |
