San Francisco, CA | It’s true that food in the US is often quite affordable, especially when you consider the portion sizes. You really do get a lot for what you pay.
But sometimes I wonder if prices are "artificially" low. When you factor in the entire value chain, from farmers to processing to logistics, it’s hard to see how everyone involved is getting a decent share.
If a better food system means slightly higher prices that actually support sustainable practices and livable wages, maybe that’s a trade worth making. What do you think? | |
