95% don't know how to properly spend money? 2/3 maybe. Lol. Seriously, the prosperous farms that are left aren't the ones going around in December saying 'the accountant says I need to buy something'.....'so I bought a new f250'....lol. May be some left that are just operating only on generational owned land. But I don't consider that prosperous. Tax moderation is a strategy but you only purchase things you need when they are a good value. You actually need to pay some taxes.

And...it is not the job of the ag lender to educate. Always good to have discussions, but the ag accoutent is who should be educating and even demanding his clients adherence to good management strategies. The job af the ag lender is to say yes or no based on the financials provided to him.
