Just curious on the specifics. I want to try it your way. I know you can't just toss a raw butt in the smoker and open it 18 hours later to find a finished product.
Did you use a rub or marinate?
Did you inject it?
Right on the grates or on a pan?
Did you ever turn it?
What keeps it from drying out?
