Subject: RE: help finding a old variety of apple tree

thanks everyone! the closest i can find is the American summer pearmain https://fedcoseeds.com/trees/american-summer-pearmain-apple-7803#:~:...

there are so many heirloom apple varieties that kind of get forgotten. commercial growers want something that stores and ships the best (understandable) but taste is secondary these days. i remember getting huge red delicious apples at Christmas, which were as the name says "delicious!" today the red delicious are small, hard as a rock and kind of tart, not exactly delicious. it would be easier to be healthy if the healthy foods tasted good like it used to. :-)
