Scranton | Must be a lot of these programs. Another is our ex-jr high school (three story, red brick). When the locals decided we needed a new high school, took them 2 or 3 votes to get it passed, farmers pay 70% of the cost.
Anyway, someone's great idea to turn old jr high into a high priced apartment building, or condo, as they are selling the apartments at $250,000 each times 25 ish. Haven't started because they are funding the entire $7 million with grants and forgivable loans, and they have most of it. This is in a town of 4,000
That grant and loan money would have been far better off spent on new single family starter homes but that would make too much sense. | |
