SOIL | I did not do the conversion kit. At $900, that's pretty steep. I got a GreenStar 2 hole to 4 hole bracket on eBay for $30, an Ethernet conversion from Deere and another conversion cable from Ag Express is available for video. Anyway, it does look funky, but for the price, I'm ok. It will all come out and the GS3 goes back in when the combine gets sold.
Appearance, the Harvester app will load in like any other ISO app and then you can arrange it how you want, so no substantial differences there. You will need updated controller software in the machine, so if you haven't done that in a few years, plan on calling your dealer.
On my G5, I have everything arranged mostly the same way as I did on the GS3, but the map takes a bigger space on the screen, which is where I place a lot of value. AutoPath is also a huge upgrade.
At the end of the day, if you don't use AutoPath, the upgrade is not worth it. If you are like me, AutoPath is a huge upgrade and to go to a corn combine without it is like going to a radio without Bluetooth or a truck without AC when it's 90°. It's still usable, but not near as nice! I also think it saves time not looking for your guess rows when opening a field or finding a new pass. Also, AutoPath is so accurate, I've actually shut the RowSense sensors off and used AP in goose necked corn to keep it from steering the combine out of my row.
