Hennepin, IL | Before you get real carried away, make sure the output shaft on the gearbox isnt spinning. Could be something as simple as a bolt sheared between the output shaft and the auger. Or splines sheared. May need to hold tension on the auger to simulate a "load". If the shaft doesnt spin with the input, Id pull the gearbox apart and inspect. Bearing out? Measure and find matching bearings. Teeth or splines wore off? If you know of a good machine shop, they could probably fix you up one way or another. I doubt it is, but if its the gearbox housing itself, you might be SOL on fixing that one, but I'd take to your local millwright/bin and auger seller guy and see if he can come up with a matching gearbox. Would just need to count either rotations of the 2 shafts or gear teeth to make sure its not a reducing gearbox. It looks pretty standard if the pics arent deceiving me. A gearbox rated for 33 hp on a 12" by 15ish foot auger sounds about right off the top of my head, may not be overkill though. | |
